ZAC AND ADAM VISIT WHITING’S HILL SCHOOL

We were recently delighted to join Barnet duo Adam Senior and Zac Williams at local school Whiting’s Hill as they met local children whilst also helping spread awareness of Barent Walking Football’s new Community Programme.

The visit involved a Q&A session with both players answering questions about their professional playing career, while also signing autographs for the pupils.

Before the lads were quickly out on to the football pitches for a meet and great with the school side, before taking part in a competitive penalty shootout, in what proved to be a memorable afternoon for all involved.

Shaun Sherrick and Stephen Brown from Barnet Walking Football Team were also on hand to present the school with a laptop and school stationary – kicking off their new campaign, as they aim to donate as much stationary to schools in the Harrow and Barnet areas as possible.

Rising costs are having a real impact on pupils, teachers and families across Harrow and Barnet and Barnet Walking Football need your support!

They are looking for donations of:

  • Paper
  • Glue sticks
  • Pens
  • Pencils
  • Whiteboard markers
  • Crafts materials
  • Geometry sets and other essentials.

The campaign is supported by Stephen Brown the Over 50’s Walking Football Team club captain who has pledged to raise over £200,000 and help provide learning

Our campaign is supported by the amazing Stephen Brown our 50s club captain with his computers for school’s program opportunities to many more disadvantaged children nationwide.

Stephen told Barnet FC: “My late wife Sam passed away after a long terminal illness 5 years ago.

“Sam was an inspirational lady with incredible strength and determination.

“Just before Sam passed, I set up a GoFundMe page Laptops for home schooling after listening to a debate in Parliament about how many of our future generation in the UK were struggling to learn.

“Sam was also a nursery school assistant and a reading assistant at a school.

“As of writing over £166,200 has been raised and I have organised 1588 laptops/tablets and 12 dongles to schools nationwide.

In Sam’s memory I would like to raise over £200k and help provide learning opportunities to many more disadvantaged children nationwide.

“Thank you for your kindness.”
