Barnet Walking Football along with Barnet FC first team players and the Foundation recently delivered donations to St Vincent’s Primary School as part of the Stationery for Schools Scheme.
Stationery for Schools provides local schools and groups with equipment and essential supplies. Encouraging the local community to donate an array of unneeded stationery, it can help with budgeting issues amid a financially challenging period.
Barnet Football Club first team players Laurie Walker and Danny Collinge as well as members of Barnet Walking Football Club took part in a Q&A session with Year 5 & 6 students from St Vincent’s Primary School.
Students got to find out what day-to-day life is like for a professional footballer and asked various questions. They found out who the players thought was better between Messi and Ronaldo, Saka and Grealish as well as what they ate, their other favourite sports and much more!
St Vincent’s Primary School Headteacher, Marie Tuohy, said:
“We only ever buy white paper because colour paper is just too expensive, and this donation now gives our students that option to use different colour paper and add colour to their projects.
“We have had to reduce back on everything at the school as the cost of everything is on the rise – We are so grateful for this donation.”
All Barnet supporters are asked to contact the Walking Football team if they are in a position to make a donation to the Stationery for Schools scheme – Barneteft@yahoo.com
