The Bees play host to National League mid-table side Sutton United at the Hive on Thursday afternoon (3pm) in matchday number 24 in the league.
Barnet FC:
On Saturday the Bees were held to a score draw at the Hive by FC Halifax Town. It was the Shaymen who struck first in this contest when Billy Waters got on the end of a Jamie Cooke cross. Their lead lasted just 13 minutes when Mark Shelton planted a shot at goal from outside the box and past Sam Johnson who couldn’t get a hand to it. Due to results elsewhere the Bees dropped to second, only off the top spot on goal difference with York taking 1st.

In the opposite dugout:
Sutton are currently managed by former Millwall striker Steve Morrison who has been with United since early January this year. Sutton sat bottom of League Two when he joined as he oversaw a brief upturn in form moving them out of the relegation zone but unfortunately for Morrison, he wasn’t able to drag his team over the line as they slipped out the football league on the final day of the season.
Ones to watch:
Will Davies will be one to watch this boxing day, he has 7 goals to his name this season from 22 appearances in the league. Ashley Nadesan isn’t far behind on 5 goals.
Last time these two sides met:
The last time these two sides met in a competitive fixture was back in May 2021 when the Bees secured a 2-0 win over the National League champions in waiting. An Aaron Simpson own goal gave the Bees the lead in the second half before a 91st minute goal from Josh Walker put the icing on the cake.
