Dean Brennan’s Bees are back on home soil this weekend as they welcome Matt Lawlor’s Fleetwood Town to The Hive Stadium on Saturday 19 September for a 3pm kick-off in Sky Bet League Two.
Both sides arrive unbeaten in the league, with Barnet looking to strengthen their position at the top and Fleetwood buoyed by a memorable week in the Carabao Cup.
Barnet:
Barnet returned to winning ways last Saturday with a determined second-half comeback against Accrington Stanley, securing a 2–1 victory and extending their unbeaten league run to 15 matches.
The visitors took the lead through Charlie Caton, who lifted the ball over goalkeeper Matthew Cox to give Stanley the advantage at the interval.
Dean Brennan introduced Damola Ajayi at half-time for his Barnet debut, and the Tottenham Hotspur loanee quickly helped change the game.
Ajayi released Adam Senior, who picked out Charlie Lakin to fire home the equaliser in the 57th minute.
With the home crowd behind them, the Bees continued to push and found their winner on 72 minutes. Lakin reacted quickest during a scramble in the penalty area to bundle home his second of the afternoon and fifth goal of the campaign.
Stanley were reduced to ten men shortly afterwards when Devon Matthews received a second yellow card, and Barnet saw out the contest to return to the summit of League Two.

Fleetwood Town:
Fleetwood travel to The Hive following a brilliant Carabao Cup achievement, beating Championship side Sheffield United 1–0 on Wednesday to reach the fourth round for the first time in their history.
Their reward is a mouth-watering home tie against Arsenal at Highbury Stadium.
The decisive moment against the Blades came in the 57th minute, when Rhys Norrington-Davies diverted Danny Andrew’s cross into his own net.
Fleetwood threatened to extend their advantage, hitting the woodwork twice during an impressive second-half display.
Goalkeeper Jay Lynch then made important late saves to preserve the lead and complete a memorable evening for the Cod Army.
The victory extended their unbeaten start to nine matches across all competitions. Attention now returns to League Two, where they drew 1–1 at Newport County last weekend.

In the Dugout:
Matt Lawlor will lead the visitors on Saturday, having been appointed Fleetwood’s permanent head coach in March 2026 following an interim spell in charge.
Lawlor signed a deal through to the end of the 2027/28 season and has overseen an encouraging start to the new campaign.
With his side unbeaten in the league and preparing for a fourth-round meeting with Arsenal, he will be looking to maintain that momentum against Brennan’s Bees.
One to Watch:
Danny Andrew’s delivery could provide a threat for the Barnet defence.
The Fleetwood defender played a decisive role in Wednesday’s cup victory, supplying the cross that led to the winning own goal. He also had an effort ruled out for offside as the hosts pressed for a second.
His contribution against Championship opposition underlined the importance of preventing Fleetwood from finding space to deliver into the penalty area.
Last Time Out:
Barnet enjoyed a memorable afternoon when the sides last met, recording an emphatic 5–2 victory at Highbury Stadium on Easter Monday, 6 April.
The Bees will be hoping for another successful meeting on Saturday, although Fleetwood’s strong start to the season points towards a demanding contest.
