Opposition Report
Recovering from a 5-0 loss against AFC Fylde, Aldershot won their last game at home to Altrincham. The 2-0 win saw goals just before half-time from Tyler Frost and Lorent Tolaj, which gained Aldershot the three points after an end-to-end game.
Frost was one of the replacements for the players who picked up injuries in the clash against Fylde, including Coby Rowe and Josh Barrett. Cian Harries picked up a suspension ruling him out of the Altrincham match and the clash against Barnet.
One to Watch: Ollie Harfield
One of the standout players against Fylde, Harfield’s defensive performance gained his side the clean sheet. Despite conceding ten goals in their last five games, Harfield has been an important part of the back-five, earning his way into the Non-League Paper’s Team of the Day last weekend.
In the Dugout: Tommy Widdrington
Born in Newcastle, Tommy Widdrington’s playing career included a six-year spell at Southampton where he made 75 league appearances after being scouted at 15 years of age by John Hixon, the same man who scouted Alan Shearer. Having also played for Wigan Athletic, Grimsby Town, Hartlepool, Port Vale and Macclesfield, Widdrington retired at Salisbury City in 2010.
