The Bees hot streak of wins continues after an impressive 4-0 victory away to Rochdale in the Vanarama National League.
The hosts opened the game holding onto the possession, creating the first chance when a whipped in cross from a Rochdale free kick is sent into the box but was cleared away by the Bees defence.
Minutes later Barnet went on the attack, with Callum Stead giving the Bees their first chance of the game, slotting the ball past the Rochdale goalkeeper, giving Dean Brennan’s side a one goal lead.
The pressure from the Bees started to kick in, forcing Rochdale back into their half, looking to catch them out and pounce towards goal.
With nearly ten minutes on the clock and Toby Savin was called into action, when a shot from Rochdale on the edge of the box was heading towards the bottom left corner.
Savin reacted quick on his feet diving down on his right to make the save, keeping the Bees in the lead.
Rochdale goalkeeper Sam Weller received the ball at his feet, setting it up to kick it long but it didn’t get the height on it.
Lee Ndlovu intercepted the ball in the air, heading it back down into the box towards Callum Stead, but the goalkeeper rushed out and made the save, redeeming himself from the error.
Minutes till half time and Barnet found themselves on the attacking front, with Rhys Browne finding himself with the ball in the box.
With space to shoot he scoops it into the top left corner, doubling Barnet’s lead as the game reached half time.
Half-Time: 0-2
As the players came out for the second half, Dom Telford entered the pitch to replace Ndlovu up top, creating a new attacking threat for the Bees.
The impact took only minutes to show as Antony Hartigan delivered the ball into the box from a free kick, finding the head of Telford, who lobbed it over the goalkeepers reach and made it 3-0 in the 50th minute.
Barnet were dominating the game, and the players were showing pure quality, focus and determination throughout the match.
The way the game was going it looked like it wasn’t going to stop there, the travelling Bees fans cheered and pushed the team forward, asking for more.
A fourth goal later came deep into the half, with Ryan Glover intercepting the ball on the left, creating the space to run on forward towards the box.
One on one with the goalkeeper, Glover chipped the ball past the goalkeepers left, bouncing into the goal with a little extra push by the Rochdale defender.
As the game reached full time, Barnet displayed another astonishing performance on the pitch and widening the gap at the top of the table even further going nine points clear.
