MATCH REPORT | BARNET FC 2-1 ALTRINCHAM | NATIONAL LEAGUE

Super Sub Rhys Browne scores a last-minute winner as the bees grab a last minute victory vs Altrincham with the final score 2-1.

A slow start to the game didn’t create many opportunities for either side with the only half chance coming from the home side with Callum Stead cutting inside from the left and shooting right at the keeper who didn’t have much trouble stopping the shot on 12th minute of the game.

But things quickly changed in the 14th minute of the game as number 11 Justin Amaluzor won the ball in the middle of the park quickly playing a pass out to Regan Linney who whips a low cross into the six-yard box that was finished past the keeper by Amaluzor who carried on his run into the box giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.

Barnet didn’t let their heads drop and continued to try and find an equaliser then in the 27th minute Zac Brunt controlled a fizzed ball into him as he quickly got his head up to find the run of Harry Chapman with a through ball that put the midfielder through on goal. Chapman took his chance slotting the ball past the keeper to give the Bees an Equaliser that made the score 1-1.

On the 36th minute of the game Ryan Glover beat his opposite number and then crossed the ball in from the byline that found the head of Harry Chapman who put it right into the path of Callum Stead who’s close range volley skied over the Bar as the Keeper came out to challenge the Forward.

Half Time 1-1

A couple minutes into the second half Altrincham take a quick free kick near the halfway line that find Alex Newby down the right who gets a shot away that is delt with by Keeper Nick Hayes with a quick save to his right.

Then in the 49th minute of the game a run down the left side of the pitch from Harry Chapman who cuts inside to take a shot with his right foot that sails just wide of the post.

As the second half carried on both sides played a tight battle as they both searched for a winner with neither team coming getting a clear-cut chance until the 71st minute a low cross from Jordan Cropper found Mark Shelton just inside the edge of the box who blasted the ball towards the bottom left corner, but his effort was kept out by Ethan Ross with a quick reaction save.

In the 89th minute of the game an in-swinging corner from the right found Altrincham caption James Jones whose effort went sailing over the bar not challenging Hayes in the Barnet goal.

Then in the 92nd minute of the game a long throw by Jordan Cropper into the box finds the head of Rhys Browne who blasts the header home past the keeper to give the home side a last-minute winner as he runs off and celebrates Infront of the Barnet faithful as the Bees grab all 3 points to keep them in 6th position in the table.
