MATCH REPORT | BARNET 3–1 FLEETWOOD TOWN

Barnet maintained their unbeaten league start with a 3–1 victory over Fleetwood Town at The Hive, thanks to goals from Kabongo Tshimanga, Charlie Lakin and Idris Kanu.

Keeper, Matthew Cox was called into action early, narrowly tipping Lewis McCann’s effort over the bar. At the other end, Tshimanga rounded Jay Lynch after collecting Cox’s long pass, but Adam Murphy cleared his effort off the line to keep the scores level.

Tshimanga opened the scoring on the tenth minute from the penalty spot after being brought him down by Jay Lynch to give the Bees a positive start.

Fleetwood responded in the 36th minute.  Matthew Cox saved Danny Andrew’s effort and Murphy would strike the post before Will Davies converted the rebound, leaving the sides level 1-1 at half-time.

The Bees were keen to take control of the second half, with two goals in quick succession after the break.  Charlie Lakin reacted to a ricochet to restore the lead on the hour, before Kanu would go on to add the third and final goal  with a right-footed finish slotted into the net two minutes later.

Barnet would go on to finish the match with ten men after substitute Nnamdi Ofoborh received a second yellow card in the 85th minute for kicking the ball away.

The Bees would go on to hold out the closing stages of the match to secure three points and retain their spot at the top of League Two.
