FC Halifax Town
Tomorrow’s hosts have endured a difficult pre-season having not won in their last five, regardless the Shaymen will be looking to build on their impressive defensive record from last season. In their last outing they made the trip to Greater Manchester where they were unable to break down National League North side Curzon Ashton.
Halifax last five results:
Curzon Ashton 0-0 FC Halifax Town
Ashton United 2-0 FC Halifax Town
Scunthorpe United 1-0 FC Halifax Town
Radcliffe FC 1-0 FC Halifax Town
Alvechurch FC 1-1 FC Halifax Town
In the opposite dugout:
Halifax are currently managed by Chris Millington who is entering his third season with the top job at the Shay. After originally coaching in the youth setup at Oldham Athletic, Millington went on to become assistant manager under then boss Pete Wild where they both were part of Oldham’s giant killing of Premier League Fulham at Craven Cottage in the FA Cup in 2019. After both left Oldham, they reunited at FC Halifax Town with Millington once again being assistant to Wild. Following Wild’s departure to Barrow in 2022 Millington became the Head Coach and his since guided his Halifax side to an FA Trophy win as well as a trip in the play-offs last year.
Ones to watch
With last seasons top scorer Rob Harker departing in the summer the Shaymen will be looking for their new head man and that could come from Adan George who joined the West Yorkshire side in January but has played in almost all of Town’s pre-season games in the forward position.
Â
Last time these two sides met:
The last time these two sides met was back in April where Barnet took all three points from a 2-0 win at the Wham Stadium in Accrington. Danny Collinge opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Callum Stead was able to grab the second just three minutes later with the Bees holding out for the win.
