Boston United

Tomorrow’s visitors currently sit in the bottom four in the National League, they’ve picked up two wins from their opening 12 matches, drawing five and losing six. In their last league outing they came to a narrow defeat over fellow strugglers Maidenhead United. The Pilgrims took the lead in this contest when Zak Mills scored inside six minutes. United equalised with 20 minutes gone when Shawn McCoulsky put the ball into the net. The game remained level until the 70th minute when Reece Smith grabbed the all important second goal for Maidenhead.

Boston United last five results:

Boston United 1-2 Maidenhead United

Gateshead 2-2 Boston United

Altrincham 2-2 Boston United

Boston United 1-1 Aldershot Town

Boston United 1-2 Hartlepool

In the opposite dugout:

Boston United are currently managed by former Kettering Town and King’s Lynn boss Ian Culverhouse who has overseen the Pilgrims since 2022. Since then, he has guided his side to promotion from the National North last season via the play-offs after a 6th place finish.

Ones to watch:

Jacob Hazel will be one to watch tomorrow afternoon. The Boston striker has five goals so far this season for the Lincolnshire side. He’s already bagged goals against York, Hartlepool, Aldershot as well as two away at Sutton United.

Last time these two sides met:

The last time these two sides met was back in 2007 in League Two when Boston narrowed a 2-1 win over the Bees in Lincolnshire. Mark Greaves opened the scoring in the opening ten minutes before Richard Graham equalised shortly after. On the brink of half time an Ismail Yakubu own goal sealed the three points for Boston.
