Saturday’s derby day sees Barnet host Wealdstone at The Hive as we chase down second place.
So, what’s the Buzz?
After a loss away at Gateshead, Barnet need to regain some momentum. The Bees fans will hope their two new signings can help deliver this, with two high-profile signings announced at the end of January. These were Luke Freeman and Adam Thompson, who have made over 500 football league appearances combined.
Club Profile
Club Name: Wealdstone F.C.
Nickname: The Stones
Founded: 1899
Ground: Grosvenor Vale
Manager: David Noble
League Position: 12th
Form: WLWWD
Opposition Report
With 11 goals in their last five games, Wealdstone seem to have changed their season’s habit of not scoring enough goals. They also remain one of the best defensive sides in the top half with 1.4 conceded goals per game, but conceded two to Barnet last time out, where goals from Jerome Okimo and Nicke Kabamba weren’t enough to secure any points.
One to Watch: Nathan Ferguson
After Wealdstone’s draw to Aldershot last Tuesday, Ferguson earned a place in the Vanarama National League team of the week. Scoring in the 34th minute with a slotted finish in the bottom right corner, Ferguson was named as Man of the Match. Formerly playing for Crawley United in League Two, Ferguson plays as a midfielder who consistently looks to make attacking runs.
In the dugout: David Noble
The game against Barnet will only be his second match in charge of The Stones, following his appointment from St Albans in the National League South.
His role at Wealdstone is only his second managerial position after retiring from St Albans as a player in 2022. This followed a career featuring spells at West Ham, Bristol City and Oldham.
