MATCH PREVIEW | ALDERSHOT TOWN

The Bees make the trip to Aldershot in the Vanarama National League tomorrow evening (7:45pm kick-off) with the Bees looking to make it four wins in a row.

Barnet FC:

In our last league outing it was Wealdstone who fell to defeat to the hands of the Bees at Grosvenor Vale with the game broadcasted live on DAZN. Despite a goalless first half, the Bees dominated the contest and took the lead when Harry Chapman was bundled over in the box. Mark Shelton stepped up to play the ball into the bottom right-hand corner. The Bees doubled our lead when a corner swung in found it’s way to Callum Stead in the box who latched onto a loose ball to poke the ball home. With a minute to spare, Nicke Kabamba made his return from injury to come off the bench to make the game 3-0, sending the Bees top of the Vanarama National League.

Aldershot Town

Tomorrow’s hosts sit mid table in the Vanarama National League having won three, losing three and drawing four in their opening ten games. In their last fixture they held title chasing York City to a goalless draw at the EBB Stadium. However, the Shots are now winless in their last four matches having drawn three but only losing one, that being a home fixture against Rochdale.

Aldershot last five results:

Aldershot Town 0-0 York City

Boston United 1-1 Aldershot Town

Ebbsfleet United 0-0 Aldershot Town

Aldershot Town 0-2 Rochdale

Aldershot Town 4-3 Maidenhead United

In the opposite dugout:

Aldershot Town are currently managed by former Grimsby Town, Southampton and Hartlepool player Tommy Widdrington who has overseen the shots since 2023. Since then, he has guided a struggling Aldershot side to play-off challengers last season along with a historic FA Cup run that saw them beat Swindon and Stockport before ultimately losing to West Brom at the Hawthorns.

Ones to watch:

Veteran winger James Henry will be one to watch tomorrow night. The former Wolves player has five goals in the league already, averaging a goal every 50 minutes in the league.

Last time these two sides met:

The last time these two-sides met was in February this year when Aldershot claimed a narrow win over the bees. Kwame Thomas with the only goal of the game, scoring in the 85th minute to condemn Barnet to defeat. Now Bees player Ryan Glover started for Aldershot in this game.
