An emphatic first half performance gives the Bees all three points over struggling Ebbsfleet at The Hive.
Zak Brunt registered the first shot of the game after 7 minutes when his effort from outside the box was well held by Mark Cousins in the Fleet goal.
It took just ten minutes for the Bees to get the opener against bottom side Ebbsfleet. Anthony Hartigan spreading the play out wide to Danny Collinge who crossed the ball to Nicke Kabamba at the back post who headed the ball past Cousins.
The lead was doubled shortly after, a goal that can have few words. The ball was cleared out of the Ebbsfleet box before Mark Shelton volleyed first time the ball right into the bottom left-hand corner.
Barnet were running riot in the opening half an hour and the third goal came in the 27th minute, the ball was fed to Rhys Browne on the edge of the box who fired a rocket of a shot right into the top right-hand corner, leaving Cousins with no chance.
Browne had another chance almost straight away after the restart, his shot this time being deflected wide for a corner.
The Bees were flexing their attacking power, and it came to no surprise when the 4th goal came when Collinge pulled the ball back down the right-hand side and there was Ryan Glover inside the box to steer the ball home.
Shelton was looking for his second of the afternoon when he went for goal from a free kick in a promising position, but Cousins was able to parry the ball away.
Half Time 4-0
Nik Tavares launched the first shot of the half but the shot was well blocked by the Fleet defence.
The Bees were pressing for a fifth and it nearly came when Glover’s curling effort forced Cousins into a great save. The resulting corner fell to Tavares who fired at goal from inside the box, but Cousins was there again to deny Barnet.
Hartigan was looking to get in on the scoresheet when he went for goal from a free-kick, Cousins was there again to make another smart stop.
Hartigan took on a second shot of the half with 15 minutes to go but his low-driven shot was well saved by Cousins.
Ebbsfleet grabbed back a consolation with 7 minutes to go when a missed kick from Hayes allowed Dominic Poleon to tap the ball into an empty net.
Callum Stead came close to getting Barnet’s fifth when his turn in the box gave him room to shoot but Cousins was there again to deny him.
The game finished 4-1 with the Bees moving back to the National League summit.
