An early second half goal helped The Bees to a 1-1 draw against play-off rivals Bromley on Tuesday night.
Bromley were the team that got off to the brighter start as Ben Krauhaus got close in the 3rd minute , as his shot from the left hand side of the box was saved well by Josh Keeley.
In the 7th minute Nicke Kabamba took down a great over the top ball but his shot ended up going wide.
In the 18th minute , Jordan Cropper sent an enticing ball towards the front post which lead to Bromley clearing their lines behind for a corner.
Following a foul on Nicke Kabamba in the 24th minute , Hartigan stepped up to a free-kick right side of the penalty area. The following cross was then cleared by Bromley once more for another corner.
In the 28th minute , Bromley had a great chance as Ben Krauhaus sent Michael Cheek through on goal following a ball over the top , however Josh Keeley was there to make a great stop to keep the scores level.
Josh Keeley was then instrumental in Barnet’s biggest chance in the 42nd minute following a long ball , which was flicked on by Nicke Kabamba. The header found Callum Stead lurking by the right hand side of the box who sent an inviting ball into the path of Dale Gorman who hit the crossbar with a first time finish.
Half – Time : Barnet 0-0 Bromley
Bromley were the team who started brighter in the second half and were keeping the pressure high , testing Keeley within the first 5 minutes of the second half. However, the Barnet defence kept strong keeping all the attempts on goal from Bromley fruitless.
Bromley full back Idris Odutayo was shown the first yellow card of the night in the 51st minute and shortly after 53rd minute , Danny Collinge was then shown a yellow card following a foul.
4 minutes after Barnet took the lead through an Idris Kanu tap in. The move started through Jordan Cropper – his long throw found Callum Stead down the right-hand side. His great footwork helped him skip past the Bromley defender and finding Idris Kanu at the far post with a low ball. It was a simple finish from the Sierra Leone international , poking the ball from close range.
Freeman then showed great footwork to possibly extend Barnet’s lead , however his effort fell wide of the far post.
Following that in the 61st minute , Bromley made their first substitution of the night bringing on Louis Dennis for Jude Arthurs.
In the 69th minute , Barnet made the first change of the night with Reece Hall-Johnson replacing Idris Kanu.
Keeley then provided another important stop as Bromley’s momentum started to rise.
Bromley eventually broke through with substitute Louis Dennis finding the breakthrough , as he was found open on the edge of the box , calmly slotting past Keeley to make it 1-1 in the 75th minute.
Barnet then made their second substitution of the night as Luke Freeman made way for Ben Coker , three minutes after the equaliser.
There was 6 minutes of added time to the game as Barnet pushed late to find a goal.
In the 4th minute of stoppage time Bromley also had their chance to take the lead but a cross into the box was cleared by Coker.
The game being even with good chances for both sides the points were shared on Tuesday night as The Bees continue to push to finish as high as possible in the play-off picture.
