MATCH REPORT | BARNET FC 2-2 LUTON TOWN

The Bees recorded their second consecutive 2-2 draw as goals from Nnamdi Oforborh and Kabongo Tshimanga in either half saw them hold League One side Luton Town to a stalemate at The Hive, as preparations for the competitive campaign continue.

Barnet took an early-lead through Nnamdi Ofoborh, whose effort trickled past Josh Keeley in the Luton Town net, Barnet’s early-pressure paying off as Sverre Sandal lost possession not far out of his own box.

A few minutes later, an ambitious chip-effort from Jack Maskell on the counter-attack sailed just over for the hosts to Keeley’s relief – almost an early double for Dean Brennan’s side.

Luton’s Nakhi Wells went one-step further with his long-distance effort rattling Taye Ashby-Hammond’s bar shortly after.

Soon after, Sandal played a great through pass to Gideon Kodoa, who saw his effort blocked from close-distance.

The save of-the-match came from Josh Keeley who was equal to a superb headed-effort from Danny Collinge following a Barnet corner that was taken short to Kane Smith.

Keeley made another great-save following another Barnet corner, a right-footed curling-effort from the left-hand side looked destined for the bottom corner.

Luton should’ve levelled the match when Isiah Jones found himself with space on the right-hand side of the box but Ashby-Hammond wasn’t to be beaten as the half progressed.

Just before the break, Nakhi Wells levelled the score for the visitors, thanks to a great through-pass from Kasey Palmer, leaving the striker with only the keeper to beat.

A second-half of few clear-cut chances saw Jayden Luker go close for the visitors following a mistake from Craig Farquhar initially, however the defender recovered very well.

Luton soon after went ahead. A superb left corner delivery cleared everyone to the back-post for Luker to convert from close-range.

Barnet then levelled through Kabongo Tshimanga. A crossed-effort was initially saved by James Shea in the Luton Town goal but the rebound found the back of the net to level proceedings with a little over ten minutes left to play.

With ten minutes to go, Hakeem Odoffin should’ve put the visitors back in front from another corner this time from the right-hand side, but the ball headed off target and that was the last of the action.
