Sarll’s footballing career began at Ipswich Town in the youth academy before joining Hitchin Town’s academy in 1999. He made his senior debut for Hitchin Town in 2001, a club he would make 38 appearances for before moving on to Berkhamsted Town in 2002.
Over the course of his playing career he represented the likes of Bedford Town, St Albans City, Hemel Hempstead Town before retiring in 2008 at Biggleswade United.
Sarll’s managerial career began at Brentford in 2008, a club which he was given many responsibilities at. The Hitchin born man represented the first team as assistant manager as well as managed the Brentford u18 sides before managing the ‘Brentford B’ team.
In 2014 Sarll was named assistant manager at Stevenage before being offered the head manager role in 2015. He was in charge for 97 games and picked up an average of 1.31 points per game.
