Martin Allen says Barnet will go into Saturday’s EFL League Two clash at promotion-chasing Doncaster Rovers with no fear.
The Bees are back on the road following three home games in a week. Their destination is second-placed Doncaster who are bidding for an automatic return to League One.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s first trip to the Keepmoat Stadium, head coach Allen said: “They have got some very good experienced players and they will definitely get promoted.
“But we have shown we should not have any fear with any of these teams we play against.
“They are good players but we also have good players. We have good team spirit, are well-organised, we are fit and very strong.
“Yes they are a good team; we lost 5-1 at Portsmouth and they won 2-1 there. Everyone will say we will get thrashed but it does not work like that in football and we will give a very good account of ourselves.”
Doncaster were a Championship team as recently as 2014. But two relegations in as many years see the Yorkshire outfit back at the foot of the Football League for the first time since 2004, but Allen insists that counts for little.
“The fact they have been in the Championship not so long ago does not bother me one little bit – we were in the Conference not so long ago finishing mid-table,” he said.
“All that history and rubbish is nothing to do with it. The fact they have got a fantastic stadium and a big, passionate fan-base does not interest me.
“We have had a lot of draws. Obviously we want to turn those into wins and we are not far off of it.”
