Edgar Davids has hailed his side after their 2-0 win over Bradford City pushed them out of the relegation zone.
New signing Taiwo Atieno opened the scoring on 41 minutes before John Oster passed the ball into the net three minutes into the second-half following a fine Bees counter attack.
Davids side have now taken ten points from a possible 15 in their last five outings and the 39-year-old refused to hide his delight post-match.
"I am very happy that we got the three points and with the way we accomplished that, I saw some very good spells and it makes you happy to be a part of it.
"They have a very direct style and it was very hard to fight against them but we went for the right approach by keeping the ball on the ground.”
Bradford’s Nahki Wells wasted a fantastic opportunity moments before Oster added a second with Davids praising the ruthlessness, mentality and progression of his side.
“That is football for you, instead of them making it 1-1 we went up the other end and got a second, it is very pleasing because the second goal allowed us to relax.”
“Sometimes it is great to pass your opponents into submission but the result has to come first, the players are capable of playing good football and I am seeing a progression on the training ground.”
The former Barcelona star also revealed that his decision to rest top scorer Jake Hyde was not due to performance but potential fatigue.
“A lot of players in the team have played back to back games and you have to think about that by sometimes giving them a rest.
“You also have to compliment the team because their style of play was unbelievable at times on Saturday and after a difficult first-half we came in leading 1-0.”
Since the departure of Mark Robson the Dutchman has taken sole charge of first-team coaching but that will not be his only task as he nears a return to fitness.
“It has been much of the same because I have played with the players and my main focus has always been the team.
“I will be available to be part of the group for the trip to Rotherham United but I still need to work hard to force my way back into the starting eleven.”
