MATCH PREVIEW | CREWE ALEXANDRA V BARNET

Barnet are once again very quickly back in action, this time preparing for a trip north to face Crewe Alexandra for this Sky Bet League Two clash, KO 3pm.

The Bees travel to the Alexandra Stadium knowing that victory will wrap up what has been an impressive October for Dean Brennan’s side but will certainly be aware of the threats our opponents possess.

Victory last time out over York City was certainly a memorable one, with strikes from Kabongo Tshimanga, Jake Reeves and Damola Ajayi wrapping up all three points under the lights at The Hive.

Barnet have now picked up 25 points from their opening 12 games – a feat that shouldn’t be underestimated but know that a tough challenge awaits.

Barnet’s Last Five:

Barnet 3-1 York City – Sky Bet League Two

Barnet 1-1 Oldham Athletic – Sky Bet League Two

Barnet 1-3 Swindon Town – Sky Bet League Two

Tranmere Rovers 1-2 Barnet – Sky Bet League Two

Bristol Rovers 1-3 Barnet – Sky Bet League Two

Crewe Alexandra:

A mainstay in Sky Bet League Two over recent years, Crewe will certainly be eyeing up a positive campaign this term and have certainly impressed this time around.

They head into this one sitting in 4th place, having only tasted defeat twice this season, but both those defeats coming in their last two games will certainly raise new questions of the Railwaymen.

In the dugout: Lee Bell

Having called a day on his playing career in 2015, former Crewe Alexandra midfielder Lee Bell initially took his first steps into coaching working with the U18’s, before moving to the U23’s five years later.

He would initially take the managers hotseat in April 2022, as interim manager, before taking the role permanently in December that year.

The now 43-year-old has continued to remain a fan favourite and will be looking for an impressive season this year out.

One to watch: Jordan Gibson

Midfielder Jordan Gibson has continued to impress for Crewe this season, with his five league goals helping the Railwaymen make their way up the Sky Bet League table.

A match-winning double against Rochdale earlier in the month certainly caught the eye, whilst his winning goal against Swindon has certainly seen him making a difference.

Having begun his career in Scotland, it has been in the EFL that Gibson has impressed, stints with Doncaster Rovers and Carlisle United followed before a summer move to Crewe.

Crewe’s last five:

Chesterfield 5-1 Crewe Alexandra – Sky Bet League Two

Exeter City 0-0 Crewe Alexandra – Sky Bet League Two

Crewe Alexandra 3-2 Rochdale – Sky Bet League Two

Swindon Town 0-1 Crewe Alexandra – Sky Bet League Two

Blackpool 2-2 Crewe Alexandra – Jersey Mikes Trophy

A Memorable Match:

Crewe Alexandra 1-2 Barnet – Saturday 13th September 2025

A 2-1 victory over Crewe Alexandra will certainly live long in the memories of Barnet fans, courtesy of Cieran Slicker’s penalty heroics.

Despite trailing through Tommi O’Reilly’s opener, just three minutes Lee Ndlovu’s would find the equaliser, before Slicker would be called into action – not once but twice.

Ryan Glover would fire home ten minutes from time to wrap up a memorable three points.
