Barnet FC can confirm that Wes Fonguck has signed for Southend United on a permanent basis.
After being scouted by the Bees whilst playing for a local side, Fonguck went on to graduate from the Barnet FC Youth Academy, making his first-team debut in May 2016 against Crawley Town.
He became an ever-present in the first-team over the last few seasons in the Vanarama National League and will now join up with fellow Bees Academy graduate Harry Taylor.
Whilst at The Hive London, the 25-year-old made over 125 appearances and was also called up to the England C squad in 2019.
Dean Brennan said: “Wes has been an amazing servant to the club and he should be proud of his achievements here.
“It is healthy for both parties that he moves on and we would like to wish him all the best for his next step.”
We would like to thank Wes for all of his hard work and efforts over the years and wish him every success for the future.
