Welcome to Barnet, Eliot Richards!

The 28-year-old can play anywhere in the forward areas but primarily plays in the number 10 role and has racked up over 150 Football League appearances playing for the likes of Bristol Rovers, Exeter City and Tranmere Rovers.

Richards will be no stranger to his new boss either, having previously played under current Bees manager Peter Beadle at Hereford back in 2017.

The attacker has represented Wales at both under 19 and under 21 level earlier in his career. During his time with Bristol Rovers where he made over 100 appearances for the Pirates.

Moves to Exeter City, Tranmere Rovers and Cheltenham Town followed before Richards was forced to take a short time out of the game due to an illness. Richards then rebuilt his career starting with a brief spell in Tampa, USA, before moving back home to play for Merthyr Town. He then joined Beadle at Hereford, where helped the Club secure promotion to the National League South.

Richards highlighted his delight when speaking about joining the Bees, he said:

“I’m really happy, I had a phone call from Beads (Peter Beadle) to see if I wanted to come down and train. I come down last week and done well, thankfully he’s offered me a contract.

“In my younger days, I was a striker but in the last few years I have come back into midfield, I like to create goals and score goals.”

Everyone would at the Club would like to welcome Eliot to The Hive London and wish him well for the upcoming campaign.
