Barnet’s stars of the future took on Stoke City and Watford at The Hive on Tuesday 20th August.
The Under-11s pitted their skills against the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship sides in a round robin tournament.
The standout performance was also a Barnet win as the young Bees defeated the Potters, who are a Category One Academy, in impressive fashion.
The youngster’s ability is testament to the quality of coaching and recruitment at the Barnet FC Academy and the tournament came about after a former coach, now at Stoke City, got into contact with Foundation Phase Lead Coach Adam Lewis.
Watford were also invited to take part and all six matches, both sides faced each other twice, were played in great spirit.
Both Watford’s and Stoke City’s coaching staff were immensely impressed with the Club’s facilities at The Hive and the quality of the environment on offer at the Barnet FC Academy.
Stoke City also offered to return the favour in the future if the Bees ever wanted to venture up to the Midlands. An invitation that will definitely be taken up in future.
