Barnet were one of only two teams not to play in the Vanarama Conference last night, with their game away to Dover Athletic tonight being delayed by 24 hours in order to be shown live on BT Sport.
In their absence, Halifax went one point clear at the top of the table with a 1-1 draw away to Macclesfield, Arthur Gnahoua equalising for the Silkmen five minutes after Scott Boden had scored against his old side.
The result means that a draw will be enough for Martin Allen’s men to return to the top of the pile tonight, whilst a win would take them two points clear for the first time all season.
Meanwhile, Woking continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 win away at Aldershot to move into third place level on points with Barnet.
Another team continuing an impressive unbeaten run was Torquay, who have now not lost since the opening day of the season, as Chris Hargreaves’ men moved into fifth place with a 2-0 win away at Chester.
The result moved them above Eastleigh, who lost a two goal lead during the second half to draw 2-2 with Dartford at Princes Park.
The final play-off spot is currently occupied by Gateshead, who thrashed AFC Telford United, who host Barnet at the weekend, by four goals to one.Â
At the other end of the table, Welling picked up their first win with a narrow 2-1 victory over Braintree Town.
Meanwhile, last Saturday’s opponents Alfreton Town registered their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw at home to Altrincham, although it could have been three were it not for Kyle Perry’s 89th minute equaliser for the visitors.
