John Akinde will leave The Hive London as an icon of our recent history. He departs having made 175 appearances across four seasons. He has scored 88 goals in the famous Black and Amber and is our record goalscorer in the Football League.

He joined from Alfreton Town in the summer of 2014 and his goals would help fire Barnet back into the Football League as Conference Champions, winning the golden boot on top.

He would be Barnet’s top-scorer in all but one of his seasons with the club and would also claim the Golden Boot in Sky Bet League Two for the 2016/17 season.

He leaves with our best wishes for the rest of his career and we thank him for his efforts whilst at Barnet FC.
