Transfer | Craig Robson signs for Barnet FC

Robson, who can play in central defence or central midfield, has vast amounts of non-league playing experience, having most recently made 79 appearances for the Daggers over a two-year spell, scoring 4 goals and playing a part in keeping 22 clean sheets.

He was captain of the Victoria Road side for the 2017/18 campaign and his high-quality performances saw him pick up the Supporters Player of the Season award.

It was John Still who brought him to East London following several impressive seasons at Bognor Regis Town. He made 159 starts for The Rocks, scoring 17 goals and earning 45 clean sheets.

A popular figure at Nyewood Lane, Robson picked up the Players’ player, supporters’ player and sponsors’ player of the year awards for the 2013/14 season.

Hailing from Hampshire, Robson’s career began at Southampton as a schoolboy before his local club Havant & Waterlooville. He would then move to Australia and play for Sorrento before returning to England and joining Bognor then Dagenham and now he arrives at The Hive London!

The 26-year-old spoke of his delight to be joining Barnet FC.
“It was quite a long process but thankfully it’s all done now and I can get ready for the season to start.

“(Still) was a big part of moving here, he rung me up and asked would I like to come and I was fully on board.”

Manager John Still thinks that Barnet supporters have a lot to be excited about regarding the arrival of Robson.

“He’s a very strong defensive player who can play either at centre-half or in central midfield. When I brought him to Dagenham & Redbridge two years ago, within a few weeks he showed his leadership qualities, strengths on the pitch and bridged the gap.

“Ever since then, he’s received high levels of attention but we managed to keep him at Dagenham and I’m now delighted to bring him to Barnet.

“Supporters will love his wholehearted attitude and also his ability.”

Welcome to Barnet, Craig!
