Transfer | Charlee Adams signs for Barnet FC

Adams joins the Bees after a season under John Still at the Daggers where he featured 21 times in the National League.

His career began in the youth system at West Ham before joining the Birmingham City academy. He made his first team debut for the Blues in January 2014, coming on as a substitute in an FA Cup tie against Bristol Rovers.

Later that same month he would join then Conference side Lincoln City and was a first team regular for the Imps for the remainder of the season. His loan was extended for the following season but was recalled to Birmingham where he signed a one-year extension.

He’d make his Football League debut in a 3-0 win over Ipswich in January 2016 which led to a further extension. He would join Kilmarnock on loan in 2016 but his time at Rugby Park was cut short following a heavy challenge suffered in a league game.

Last summer, Redbridge-born Adams joined Dagenham and in March 2018 he made his England C debut against Wales and currently had two caps for the side.

“I’m looking forward to getting going, get the running out the way but I’m hearing the balls are out which is positive!

“I know a few of the lads so it will be good to get involved and get a good relationship with everyone. We’ve got a really good squad here, the aim is out and out promotion.”

Bees boss John Still has also commented on this latest arrival.

“I’ve known of Charlee for a long time. As a boy he was at West Ham, and then went to Birmingham and I’ve always followed his career. Once I knew he had become available, I brought him to Dagenham.

“He had a poor start as he missed pre-season and he was out for a long time, he came back and by the end of the season he was outstanding. He’s a very talented young man, a strong competitor, a good passer.

“He’s got himself into the England C team and performed very well. He is a player that has an opportunity to push his career further because he has the right attitude so I’m very happy to get him.”

A full interview with Charlee will be available shortly.

Welcome to Barnet, Charlee!
