Together for England Roadshow comes to The Hive!

The Together for England Roadshow rolled into The Hive on Thursday afternoon, as a selection of both men’s and women’s England internationals joined children from three local primary schools to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of sport at the home of Barnet FC.

Arsenal star Chuba Akpom (England U20s) joined young Tottenham Hotspur duo Kyle Walker-Peters and Will Miller (England U18s) with England Women’s pair Ellen White (Notts County Ladies) and Danielle Carter (Arsenal Women) also in attendance as the group took on some less familiar sports on the 3G pitches at The Hive.

The Hive Community Trust welcomed pupils from nearby Camrose Primary School, St Bernadette’s Primary School and The Hyde Primary School as special guests for the day, as the youngsters showed off their tag rugby and football rounders skills alongside some of the nation’s finest football players before sitting down for a question and answer session with the stars.

As well as giving the kids a chance to discover what it takes to play sport at international level, the event also provided a chance to promote England U20s’ forthcoming fixture against Mexico U20s on Wednesday 25 March (7.45pm kick-off), the first ever international to take place here at The Hive!

Reflecting on the day, Arsenal and England U20s forward Chuba Akpom admitted that he could not wait to get a taste of The Hive atmosphere later this month:

“It was a lot of fun.  It looked like they had a really nice time and now they can go home with a better taste of what it is like to be a footballer and hopefully that will inspire them to want to do the same themselves.

“I’ve been to The Hive a few times now and the facilities are amazing really, it is a really nice place. I’m buzzing for the game. Having been to training ground and seen how it is I can’t wait to get playing here so hopefully there will be a good turnout on the day and I can notch a few goals!

“Us young players thrive off of big crowds, it gives you that adrenaline and that boost so hopefully at the Mexico game there will be lots of England fans all getting behind us.”

Tickets for the game are priced at just £3 for adults and £1.50 for concessions*, with groups of 15 people or more gaining entry for just £0.50 each when booking together.
