Report & Reaction | Blackburn Rovers 3-1 Barnet FC – Emirates FA Cup

Rossi Eames was forced to shuffle his pack before kick-off, Jamal Campbell-Ryce pulling up injured in the warm up, Wes Fonguck was brought in.

It was a slow start to affairs at Ewood Park, with the first clear chance coming in the 10th minute, Bradley Dack with a left footed attempt at goal which was deflected behind.

Minutes later, Danny Graham was through on goal but Craig Ross made an important save to deny the Blackburn front man.

Barnet took the lead on the half hour mark. Dack gave the ball away, allowing Jack Taylor to race down on goal. He had Simeon Akinola up for company and unselfishly squared the ball across to Barnet’s number 14 to tap home.

After the break, Blackburn went looking for an equaliser, forcing four successive corners in a row, one of which had to be cleared off the line by Nicholls – another well saved by Ross.

The pressure paid off when, in the 63rd minute, half time substitute Joe Nuttall followed up on a previously blocked shot to equalise.

Straight after the restart, Santos gave the ball away but made an excellent recovery to make a last ditch challenge on Danny Graham.

Graham did bag a goal however, after good work from Dack allowed the striker to get a shot away from a tight angle.

And it was 3-1 ten minutes later, Marcus Antonsson placing a shot low into the bottom right corner of the net.

Benjy Aghadiuno was brought on and forced a couple of late chances, the best in stoppage time when, after a few step overs, delivered a dangerous cross which was just crying out for a touch.
