Ian Evatt’s hosts missed a key chance to go ahead early on. Dan Jones was denied by a great save by Mark Cousins away to his left and, from the follow-up play, Tyler Smith headed just wide.
The Bees took the lead in the 16th minute when Jack Taylor played a ball over the top to Josh Walker, he lost his marker before squaring to Manny Duku who slotted home from close range for his first Barnet goal.
Duku would later head over from close range before Erico Sousa’s curled effort was headed away by Craig Robson.
Barnet doubled their lead in the 36th minute when Wes Fonguck brought the ball forward 30 yards with the defence stepping off him, before curling a shot delightfully into the bottom right, his fifth goal of the season.
In the second half, the Bees could have added more, Robson failed to get on the end of Fonguck’s low cross.
David Tutonda played through Walker moments later, but he prodded just wide from close range.
In the 62nd minute, Callum Reynolds was subbed on for his Bees debut and was soon followed by Dave Tarpey, back in competitive action for the first time since September 2017.
Elliott Johnson forced a save at the near post from Andrew Firth prior to Fonguck firing a half-volley on the turn over the bar.
Firth was called into action late on when once again Fonguck created space for a shot but the Barrow keeper turned it around the post.
