Preview | Oxford United U18’s v Barnet FC U18’s – FA Youth Cup

Barnet booked their place in Round Two after beating Peterborough Sports 1-0 at the Bee Arena, Dimeji Adeniran bagging the only goal of the game with only nine minutes on the clock.

As for Oxford, they eased to a 3-0 victory over Hemel Hempstead Town at the previous hurdle. Slavi Spasov bagged a brace and Connor Ferguson came off the bench to write his name on the score sheet aswell.

Last Time Out:

The Bees, who sit seventh in Group C of the Youth Alliance League, will be hoping to return to winning ways after falling to a 2-1 defeat to Wimbledon in their most recent fixture.

Oxford, on the other hand, enter Wednesday’s game in high spirits after thrashing Forest Green Rovers 5-0 away from home at the weekend. Goals from Owen, Harry Sampford, Aaron McCreadie, Lopes and Jordan Edwards sealed the victory as the O’s remain top of Group D.

Last Season’s Youth Cup Form:

Barnet secured a comfortable 4-0 victory over Wingate & Finchley in the opening round of the FA Youth Cup last season. Roy Syla, Benjy Aghadiuno and a brace from Greg Adinna ensured The Bees eased through to the next round. However, it was a different story at the second hurdle as they fell to a 3-1 defeat to MK Dons.

Oxford went one better than The Bees last season. They beat Gloucester City 2-1 after extra time in Round One before clinching a 3-1 win over Bristol Rovers at the second stage. However, their run ended in Round Three at the hands of Dagenham & Redbridge, losing 3-0.

Ticket prices are £5 for Adults, £3 for Under 18’s and Over 65s. Turnstiles will open at 6.45 and any travelling support will be greatly appreciated by our youngsters. Please note, the fixture is being played at Court Place Farm, the home of Oxford City FC.
