Preview | Brentford B (h) – Middlesex Senior Cup

The Bees are back in Middlesex Senior Cup action tomorrow night as they host Brentford B at The Hive London with a place in the final at stake.

After facing the senior team on two occasions already this season in the FA Cup, the Bees now go up against a team of Brentford youngsters in the semi-final.

This Season’s Run:

Tomorrow’s opposition began their Middlesex Senior Cup run with a convincing 4-0 away win over CB Hounslow United in October 2018 at the second round stage. A trip to Wealdstone awaited them in round three and the Bees progressed again, beating the National League South side 2-0 thanks to goals from Joe Hardy and Theo Archibald.

As for Barnet, they clinched a second round 4-1 victory over Wembley FC before beating Hampton & Richmond 2-0 at the previous stage.

Head Coach: Lars Friis

Lars Friis was appointed head coach of Brentford’s development side after a spell at Danish Superliga side Aarhus Gymnastikforening.

He has spent the most part of his managerial career at FC Midtjylland where he helped set up the academy before working there for eight years. However, he left to join up with the Danish FA where he would go on to coach at youth team level from Under-16’s to Under-21’s.

In 2009, Friis returned to Midtjylland’s academy before he was promoted to the First Team in 2013, a role he held for two years. It was a successful spell at the club as he was part of the side that won the Danish title for the first time before qualifying for the last 32 of the Europa League. Friis left the club for Aarhus in 2015.

Last Time Out:

Brentford B will go into to tomorrow’s game off the back of a 1-0 victory over Huddersfield Town U19 just over a week ago with Nikolaj Kirk bagging the only goal of the game.

Whoever comes out on top tomorrow night will face Harrow Borough in the final.

Tickets for tomorrow’s game are priced at £4 for Adults, £2 for Concessions and £1 for Under 17’s.
