Plans revealed for major expansion of The Hive

The proposals, drawn up by AndArchitects, were unveiled at the official opening of The Hive’s new Amber Lounge and Bar 66 hospitality venue – attended by more than 200 Barnet FC members – on Thursday evening.

The planned expansion will involve replacing the current South terracing with a new all-seater stand as well as a revamp and extension of the East Stand.

There will also be a substantial redevelopment of the site as a whole – including a new-look indoor Academy centre with indoor pitches behind the South Stand.

A new multi-purpose indoor sports hall will also be built at the back of the North Stand, with facilities for not only football but other sports such as basketball, netball and badminton.

Behind the North Stand sports hall will be a new 11-a-side 3G Astroturf pitch alongside eight smaller ones – open to the wider community as well as the Bees’ Academy teams.

Subject to planning approval from Harrow Council, the club anticipate that work on the site will begin at the end of the 2017-18 season. Click on the links below for details of the plans:
