BARNET FOOTBALL CLUB

Owen Evans RETURNS!

Barnet FC are thrilled to announce the permanent signing of Owen Evans, who officially joins the Club on 1st July 2025.

The 28-year-old joined the Bees on loan from Cheltenham Town last season, making his league debut away at Forest Green Rovers in a hard-fought goalless draw.

The Welsh shot-stopper went on to keep six clean sheets in a row, ultimately conceding just SEVEN goals in 18 games – quickly cementing himself as a fan favourite with his trademark distribution and remarkable composure on the ball.

Playing a key role in the Bees’ title-winning defensive unit, Owen told us how delighted he is to return to the Club, now back in the EFL:

“I’m over the moon. The last four months of the season couldn’t have gone any better, so to come back and it properly in the league now – it’s really good.”

On reuniting with the lads:

“That was one of the reasons I wanted to come back, seeing Tav (Nik Tavares) and Danny (Collinge) and all other players re-sign, and knowing that core group of lads is still together, which did so well.”

“I told them last year, coming to the National League having been at Cheltenham for the first half of the year In League Two, I knew they’d do exceptionally well in League Two, so a reason to come back again.”

Speaking about the season ahead, Owen said:

“I think we have the ability and the team cohesion to do really well in this league. I think we can really push, I think we’ll surprise a lot of teams, and that’s my ambition – to continue the upward trajectory of this club.”

Manager Dean Brennan added:

“Owen needs no introduction to the football club. He impressed last year in his loan, and it’s been a long summer trying to get him to sign.”

“His family situation changed when he had a daughter on the last day of the season, so eventually we worked something out for him to commit long-term to the football club.”

“All our supporters, players and staff are delighted he’s decided to move back down to London.”

Welcome back, Owen!

The deal is subject to the usual FA and League clearances.
