Stevenage endured a disappointing campaign last season, finishing bottom of League One and being relegated back to the fourth tier.
They will be looking to bounce straight back up this coming season and replicate the success of the 2010/2011 season, which saw them promoted after winning the League Two Play-Off Final at Old Trafford.
Manager Graham Westley, back for a third spell in charge of The Boro, has had a busy summer as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
Former Crewe and Burton Albion striker Calvin Zola has joined from Aberdeen, where the 29-year-old scored three goals in 20 appearances in the Scottish Premier League last season.
Two more experienced heads to have been recruited are Chris Whelpdale and Charlie Lee. The pair have spent the last seven years playing together for both Peterborough and Gillingham, and already have two promotions from League Two to their names.
Other signings include defenders Dean Wells, who had been playing part-time at Braintree Town, Simon Walton, who was released from Hartlepool United, and Ronnie Henry, who returns to Stevenage after captaining Luton Town to the Conference title last season.
The Bees have met The Boro 11 times competitively, winning four, drawing one and losing six. The last meeting between the two sides came at Broadhall Way in 2010/2011, when Stevenage ran out 4-2 winners.
