Skipper Michael Nelson admitted Barnet were disappointed not to have taken all three points against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday following a dominant display at The Hive.
The goalless draw means the Bees are now unbeaten in five EFL League Two matches, but Martin Allen’s men could and should have picked up another win against an Alex side who showed little ambition in the second half.
Barnet had two efforts cleared off the line while John Akinde, in such a rich vein of form this season, saw two good opportunities narrowly miss the target.
Speaking afterwards, Nelson said: “We had a good blend of passing the ball around and also trying to be a little bit more direct at times to get John Akinde in and midfield runners in behind.
“We created quite a few chances and limited them to just a couple so we’re very pleased with the clean sheet but disappointed we never went on to win.
“I think we had two cleared off the line and John had two good chances, unfortunately both came to him on his left foot and he didn’t finish them off.
“We’re pleased with the clean sheet and to be five games unbeaten in the league, but we’re a little bit disappointed didn’t take three points.”
