Barnet FC are pleased to announce that Michael Nelson has been named as the club’s captain for the coming season.
The 36-year-old centre back has also captained Bury and Hartlepool United earlier in his career.
He has made 634 professional appearances to date, including 32 for Barnet since arriving at The Hive in August 2015.
Sam Togwell has been chosen as the club’s vice-captain for the coming campaign.
Now in his third season with Barnet, Sam has played 451 games throughout his career and helped the Bees to the Conference title in 2014-15.
Both players have won five promotions between them, with Nelson also lifting the Scottish League Cup with Kilmarnock in 2012.
Congratulations to Michael and Sam on being chosen to lead the Bees this season!
