Dean Brennan’s men ran out 3-0 victors in a pre-season friendly at Hitchin Town.
On a hot summer’s evening, the Bees’ first half Starting XI were on fire.
The first goal came from Rhys Browne after Hartigan played a delightful diagonal to Galvin on the left hand side, who squared it perfectly to his teammate.
The Bees continued to probe, and the second goal came from a spot-kick after Browne’s tricky feet saw him tripped in the box – the attacker slotting coolly past the Hitchin keeper.
The third came from a powerful Adam Senior header into the right hand corner, after Scott High floated a dangerous delivery into the Hitchin box, marking the new signing’s first goal in Bees colours.
Half Time saw Barnet 3 up, with Dean Brennan swapping the squad completely for the second half.
The second 45 saw little goalmouth action, with Bright Siaw the most notable spark.
The wing-back’s pace caused Hitchin several problems, as Siaw cut inside a couple of times, curling his shots just over the bar.
Kensdale was also denied by the Hitchin keeper twice at point blank range, but the Canaries held firm against the Bees, with the game ending 3-0 – all the damage done in the first half.
Next up, the Bees face Hemel Hempstead in the Spencer McCall Invitational Trophy on Saturday at the Focus Community Arena.
