The Bees fell to opening day defeat in West Yorkshire as two second half goals sealed the win for the hosts.
The hosts started the game strongly when a shot from outside the box from Andrew Oluwabori flew over Nick Hayes’ bar.
First chance for Barnet fell to Danny Collinge as Hartigan’s cross from a free kick went looking for the defender but it was cleared away by the Halifax back line.
On the quarter-hour mark a Coker corner was played in looking for Zak Brunt but his header at the back post fell wide of the post.
22 minutes in and another chance was created for the Bees when Coker’s low cross to Kanu was a teasing one, but the Halifax back line was there again to clear the ball away.

The Shaymen opened the scoring in the opening minutes of the second half when a cross fell to Jamie Cooke on the edge of the six-yard box who slotted the ball past the keeper to put the hosts ahead.
The Bees were able to find an almost instant response when Callum Stead took the defence on before his effort at goal was palmed into the path of Ben Coker who levelled the scores up.
On the hour mark, Halifax were able to re-take the lead when a corner found it’s way to the back post where Adam Adetoro was there to score.
Halifax were able to hold on for an opening day win to send Barnet home empty handed.
