The Bees beat newly promoted National League South side Chesham United at The Meadow to secure a third pre-season victory.
The first chance of the game fell to the home side when a close-range strike crashed against the crossbar before a follow-up shot was excellently blocked on the line from Jermaine Francis.
Mark Shelton was the first in amber and black to make an attempt on goal. The midfielder saw his strike from the edge of the box blocked by a Chesham defender. Shelton would be involved again when he won back possession in the Chesham half and drove with the ball into the penalty area before playing the ball back across the face of goal. Unfortunately, his pass was blocked and put behind a corner.
Reece Hall-Johnson demonstrated his pace and skill when he skipped passes to three opposition players as he made his run through the Chesham half. Hall-Johnson found Callum Stead on the wing, who would immediately play the ball back into the path of Hall-Johnson, who went for goal, but the strike was blocked again by the Chesham defence.
The breakthrough came after 20 minutes when Reece Hall-Johnson’s cross was deflected into the goal by a Chesham defender to give The Bees the lead.
The lead was doubled ten minutes later when Reece Hall-Johnson collected the ball in his own half and made a rapid run into the Chesham box before placing his strike under the keeper and into the bottom corner of the net.
Idris Kanu came close to adding a third for The Bees when his strike from the edge of the box towards the near post was saved by the keeper.
Mark Shelton forced the keeper into making another great save when he unleashed a powerful strike from just outside the box.

Idris Kanu had the first chance of the half for The Bees. A low driven strike was safely caught by the Chesham keeper.
After the hour mark, Dean Brennan made 11 substitutions, which saw the likes of Nick Hayes, Ade Oluwo, Zak Brunt, and Nicke Kabamba come on.
The home side had a couple of efforts at goal, but each effort was matched by Hayes.
The game ended with The Bees winning their third pre-season game in a row. Brennan’s side will travel to Hemel Hempstead on Saturday for our next pre-season fixture.
