The Bees and Sutton played out an emphatic score draw at The Hive this boxing day in the Vanarama National League
The first chance of the game fell to Ben Coker when his teasing cross from the left-hand side looking for Mark Shelton was well cleared away by the visitors.
Myles Kenlock was the first man to pull the trigger in this contest, he tried his luck from outside the box, but it went over the bar.
Will Davies was the first Sutton man to launch an effort at goal, his effort first time from the edge of the box went wide of the mark.
Jack Sims was called into action when Callum Stead’s low shot from the left-hand side of the box looked to be heading for the near post, Sims was equal to the effort.
The Bees found themselves a goal down after 21 minutes when a Sutton break-away found it’s way to Ashley Nadesan who ran through on goal before placing the ball past Nick Hayes and into the bottom left-hand corner.
With half an hour played Barnet were back on level terms and what a goal it was to celebrate it. Ryan Glover received the ball from outside the box before aiming a looping shot at goal which found the top-right hand corner.
Sutton were looking to catch the Bees on the break again not long before half time, but Ade Oluwo came sliding across to put in a fantastic tackle to deny the visitors.
Ade Oluwo got the all-important touch to give the Bees the lead. He jumped highest from a Ben Coker cross from the left-hand side to turn the game on it’s head heading into the break.
Half Time 2-1
Goal scorer Nadesan had the first shot of the half when he let fly from outside the box but it went over the Bees crossbar.
The Bees came inches away from a third goal when Glover’s cross found the diving head of Stead, but he couldn’t direct his effort goalwards as it went out for a goal-kick.
Sutton would have been feeling wounded after Nadesan pounced on a rebound inside the box for the visitors, only to place his rolling effort wide of the mark from the edge of the six-yard box.
Callum Stead launched a curling effort at goal from the edge of the box, only for the ball to narrowly evade the crossbar and out for a Sutton goal-kick.
Sutton came close on the 67th minute mark when a perfect cross from the left was met by the shot of Lewis Simper from inside the box but he rolled his effort wide of the mark.
The visitors found themselves level just minutes later when the ball was worked around the box before it fell to Will Davies in the box who low drove a shot into the bottom corner.
The game was turned on it’s head again when Topallaj got on the end of a loose ball in the box before placing an effort under Nick Hayes and into the back of the Barnet net.
Jack Sims was the Sutton’s rescue in added time when he threw himself in front of the ball to deny Collinge from inside the box.
Shelton came so close to grabbing the equaliser when his shot from the edge struck the right-hand post with minutes to spare.
In dramatic fashion Ryan Glover rescued a point for the Bees in the dying seconds when he got his boot on the ball following a goal mouth scramble from a Hartigan free-kick.
