The Bees hosted Maidenhead United in the Vanarama National League, for the first game at The Hive in 2025 which ended 3-0 to Dean Brennan’s side after a solid performance from the Bees in the.
The Bees started the opening minutes of the game piling the pressure on the visitors by continuously pushing the ball up in the opposition’s half.
Kanu and Glover were both creating chances from their sides of the pitch, crossing or driving the ball into the box but every chance was foiled by Ross in goal or the Maidenhead defence.
Barnet kept driving and pushing the ball up field but couldn’t seem to get the ball over the line, with every attempt falling just wide of the post or being stopped by Ross.
However, in the 27th minute the ball was dropped into the Maidenhead box, being pushed and scrambled by players on both sides. To which then Ryan Glover seems to push it over the line, but the ball gets pulled away out to Callum Stead who slots it firmly back into the net giving Barnet the lead.
The Bees had fall control of the game as half-time was approaching. Maidenhead tried to run at the Barent defence but was pushed back by Nik Tavares and Myles Kenlock on the back line, keeping the Bees ahead!

As the second half kicked off, the Bees came out flying, constantly pressing towards the Maidenhead box. Out of nowhere Mark Shelton took a strike at goal and doubled the lead for the Bees in the 47th minute.
In the opening minutes of the half Maidenhead tried to put up a fight, but every chance they had at clearing the ball away from their half was intercepted by the Bees and pushed back up the other way.
Maidenhead found their way into the Bees box, through crossing and driving it low on the ground. But Evans collected the ball safely in his gloves and distributing it calmly through some quick foot work knocking it up field.
Throughout the game Zak Brunt and Idris Kanu were creating multiple chances with and for each other, unfortunately not quite reaching the back of the net. Until in the 70th minute Zak Brunt plays the ball to Kanu who strikes it towards goal, getting himself a goal and giving Barnet their third of the match.
In the final moments of the match, Barnet still held the ball in the opposite half, protecting the clean sheet and keeping a strong hold on their lead. However, Maidenhead found an opening and charged towards goal, but was met with Barnet’s full defence, stopping any last chance Maidenhead had on getting a late goal.
As the referee blew for full-time, Barnet extend their unbeaten run to 13 in the league, adding three points to the table and finishing the day at the top of the league.
