MATCH REPORT: Barnet 0 – 0 Morecambe

Barnet and Morecambe played out a 0-0 draw at The Hive this afternoon.
The Bees had the better of the second half, but a point a piece was probably a fair result for two well matched teams.
The first chance of a quiet opening period didn’t arrive until the half hour mark; Paul Mullin’s right wing cross found Tom Barkhuizen, but his shot on goal was well saved by Jamie Stephens.
Minutes later Stephens again had to be at his best to stop Lee Molyneux’s low drive – Barkhuizen slotted home the rebound, but was judged to be offside.
Barnet began the second half began brightly and Josh Clarke had the Bees first chance of the match on 47 minutes.
Michael Gash’s cross from the left arrived at Clarke’s feet, but Barry Roache was quick off his line to close down the winger’s shot.
Gash then fired a 48th minute free kick narrowly wide of the right post.
With a quarter of an hour left to play Josh Clarke drilled in a low shot that was deflected out for a corner by Roache.
But Barnet had to settle for a point after a performance that was full of endeavour, but short on clear-cut chances.
The Bees head to Notts County’s Meadow Lane on Tuesday evening.
