A young Barnet reserve side beat Queens Park Rangers 4-2 at The Hive this afternoon.
Goals from Remy Gyimah and Shane Cojocarel helped to seal the win, and Development Coach Ross Eames was quick to praise the performance of his players after a hard-fought victory.
“It was a really positive performance in the first half,” he said.
“QPR had the wind in their favour and pinned us in pretty well.
“But like the game against Reading, we defended around the box very well and tried to hit them on the break when we could – with our power and pace.
“We had four really good chances in the first half where we probably should have scored, or at least worked the keeper more.
“In the second half we were excellent – we pinned them back into their half and pressed the ball very well.
“There were some outstanding performances in and out of possession, and the team were excellent in the way that they worked together as a unit.
“Our four goals were fully justified.
“QPR had some very good players there; some that had played in the first team, and some that have been on loan to League One and League Two clubs this season.
“The willingness and determination to work hard and press when our players were without the ball really showed today.
“The team have taken on board what has been asked of them in the last couple of weeks.
“Every player that played today took to their roles and responsibilities with a great attitude and were excellent.”
