Match Preview: Woking (A)

FIXTURE DETAILS:

Woking FC vs Barnet FC

Saturday 21st November 2020, 15:00 KO

Kingfield Stadium

Vanarama National League

THE CARDS:

League Position: 6th (P9 W4 D2 L3)

Last Result: Dover Athletic 1-5 Woking (Vanarama National League, Tuesday 17th November)

Manager: Alan Dowson

Club Captain: Josh Casey

Woking will be hoping to build on Tuesday nights thrashing of Dover, which was their first win in all competitions, since mid-October, and just over a week since they were knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup by Gillingham. Despite this, they find themselves in 6th place, though with two games in hand on the teams around them.

They will be hoping to build on their positive season in the Vanarama National League last season after they had been promoted the season before when they just missed out on the play-off places by three points before the first lockdown saw the rest of the regular season stopped.

Even if results haven’t been perfect, Kingfield is most definitely a fortress, with the Cards unbeaten so far at their home ground, meaning Saturday’s trip match will be no easy task for the Bees.

THE BEES:

It has been a difficult few days for the Bees. After the heroics of knocking League One Burton Albion out of the FA Cup, the Bees have lost both games since. A difficult Saturday afternoon saw them lose 3-1 to Bromley, before newly-promoted King’s Lynn Town were able to grind out a 2-0 win on Tuesday evening, with both fixtures coming at the Hive.

The lads will be looking to respond in what is their 4th away league fixture, having picked up 4 out of a possible 9 points in the previous three, including a London derby win over Dagenham & Redbridge back at the start of October.
