It was a season to remember for this weekend’s visitors, as they achieved promotion to the Sky Bet Championship, securing a second-place finish ensuring automatic promotion. The Posh will now be hoping to kick on in the second tier as they head for their first campaign in the division since 2013, they’ll be confident too with a whole host of talent all over the pitch. The key man for Fergie’s men last season was without doubt Jonson Clarke-Harris, the striker picked up the League One Player of the Year award as he took home the golden boot, scoring 31 goals in 45 league outings. Clarke-Harris will now be hoping to make his mark in The Championship, as second-tier football returns to The ABAX Stadium.

The One To Watch: Jack Taylor

This man certainly needs no introduction to the Bee Army, the Barnet FC Academy Graduate has gone from strength to strength since leaving The Hive London for The Posh. The Irish midfielder is highly rated and plays an instrumental part in Darren Ferguson’s side and will almost certainly play a key part for the Posh in the Sky Bet Championship. Taylor hasn’t let the brilliant goals he scored at Barnet dry up either, since joining the Posh he has scored nine goals in 51 appearances.

During his time with the Bees, the Irish creative midfielder played 127 times for the Club and scored 16 goals, many of which were goal of the season contenders on their own! Jack is now joined by fellow academy graduate Ronnie Edwards at the Posh, another former Bees player who is destined to go to the top of the game. Both look set to be involved in tomorrow’s match, with the potential for Jack to go up against his brother and current Bee, Harry Taylor!

THE BEES:

The Bees return to The Hive London for the first time this pre-season and it gives the Bee Army this first chance to see Harry Kewell’s newly assembled squad in the flesh. Kewell’s men have so far taken on two training ground friendlies, as they hosted Bristol Rovers, securing a convincing 3-0 win against the League Two side. Last weekend they travelled to Championship opposition, losing out 2-0 to an experienced Millwall side who boasted a whole host of First Team players.

There’s still some way to go before the start of The National League season, which gets underway on August 21st, but the Bees squad is already starting to take shape with 11 new signings in the door. Those new signings will take to The Hive London pitch for the first time on Saturday and it’ll be another tough test against second-tier opposition. The two 75 minute matches will allow for all of the Bees players to get more minutes in the tank, as well as allowing for the coaching team to get a good look at some of the trialists who are currently with the Club. All in all, it should be a great test for Kewell’s men as preparations continue.
