The Opposition:

The Fishermen have had a positive start to their campaign as they currently sit 5th in the table occupying one of the play-off places which they will look to maintain for the rest of the season. The away side travel to the Hive on the back of some mixed form which has seen them struggle more on the road.

Last season, Fleetwood Town were able to reach the third round of the FA Cup having defeated Alfreton Town and Guiseley before being knocked out in a closely contested game with AFC Wimbledon that finished 3-2.

The League One outfit will provide a tough game for Currie’s men as 52 league places separate the two sides but the Bees will look to be one of the sides to cause an infamous Emirares FA Cup upset.

The Gaffer: Joey Barton

Joey Barton enjoyed a busy career having played for seven different teams which included the likes of: Manchester City, Newcastle United and Burnley FC and even making a solo apperance for the England National Team.

Having never managed a team before, Barton was given the managerial role at Fleetwood Town in April 2018 upon his retirement from playing. In his first season, he guided the Fishermen to a mid-table finish and has so far took his team forward as they sit in a play-off place with just under three quarters of the season still left to play.

One to Watch: Paddy Madden

Paddy Madden joined Fleetwood Town in January 2018 from fellow League One side Scunthorpe United. The forward has already shown his ability in the Emirates FA Cup having scored his 100th football league goal against Guiseley last season.

Madden has enjoyed a good start to the season so far having scored 10 goals, making him the third highest goalscorer in the league which has led to a nomination for the League One Player of the Month Award for October.
