EFL League Two
Broadfield Stadium
Saturday 20th August 2016 – 3pm
Team News: Michael Gash injured his cruciate ligament in the 2-0 win against Accrington Stanley last week and could miss the remainder of the season. Martin Allen is also waiting to discover whether three unnamed players will be fit enough to face Crawley Town on Saturday.
Last Time We Met: A young Barnet team beat Crawley Town 3-0 away at the end of last season. You can read the report from that match here.
Opposition Form: After a difficult end to last season, Crawley have got off to a flying start this time around. The Red Devils have won two and drawn one of their opening three League Two fixtures. Dermot Drummy’s men beat Wycombe Wanderers at home (1-0), secured a 1-1 draw with Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat Stadium and recorded a 1-0 win at Exeter City on Tuesday night.
Dangermen: Crawley Town have been sharing the goals around this season, with four different players each finding the back of the net on one occasion. Captain Jimmy Smith scored against Wycombe Wanderers while Dutch winger Enzio Boldewijn was on target in the EFL Cup match against Wolves. Experienced midfielder Jamie Coppinger was the Red Devils’ scorer when they played his former club Doncaster Rovers, before Josh Yorwerth popped up with a late winner at St James’ Park three days ago.
Last Time Out: While Crawley Town were beating bottom of the table Exeter City, Barnet were putting in arguably their best performance of the season at The Hive. John Akinde scored in the final minute of injury time to claim a well-deserved point for the Bees. You can read the match report from that game here, or check out the highlights below:
