Ian Dyer

 

Prior to his time at Woking, Ian Dyer worked at Hampton & Richmond Borough as an Assistant Manager, as well as in various roles at Portsmouth, Fulham and Barnet.

 

Dyer joined Woking’s coaching staff in the 2018/19 season under manager Alan Dowson and was a key part of their promotion from the National League South. 

 

Following Downson’s sacking last month, Dyer has taken over as caretaker manager until a permanent appointment is secured. 

 

ONE TO WATCH

 

Inih Effiong

 

The 31-year-old’s career began at St Albans City before enjoying stints at the likes of Boreham Wood, Chesham United and Biggleswade Town.

 

Effiong first appeared for Woking in the 2017/18 season, before leaving to join Scottish Premiership side Ross County for an undisclosed fee.

 

In 2018, Effiong joined Dover Athletic – a club he registered over 80 appearances for during two seasons. 

 

Since then, the 6ft 4ins forward has spent time on loan at Barnet and Notts County from Stevenage before permanently leaving the Lamex Stadium at the end of last season.

 

Effiong returned to Woking in May 2021 on a one-year deal and has currently scored 11 goals this season.
