Martin: “It’s another point on the board”

Barnet manager Martin Allen was pleased with his team’s performance against Cambridge United.

Speaking after the match, Martin said:

“I’m very pleased – it’s another point on the board.

“It was a good performance, especially after last week, and I see it as a point gained.

“It’s been a challenging month – it’s been ok but it hasn’t been great.

“Perhaps we haven’t got the amount of points that you’d expect from our performances; the points that we deserved to be honest.

“There’s only been one game where we didn’t play very well, and which I didn’t enjoy.

“The rest of it I’ve quite enjoyed watching them play, even if we haven’t won the game.

“We’ve played some of the top teams so far, and I’d put Cambridge in that bracket.

“They weren’t better than us today, that’s for sure.

“I think we were the better team, we dominated for nearly all of that game.

“We hit the post, the cross bar, we had things cleared off the line left, right and centre.”

“It’s been like that in quite a few of our games.

“We can always improve, but it’s a clean sheet today and a point on the board against a good team and a very expensive team.

“I’ve got to say I’m really pleased with the players today.”
