Loic Hernandez signs new contract with the Club

The Barnet FC Academy graduate has signed a deal that will see him stay at the Club for at least the 2020/21 campaign.

The 20-year-old defender signed his first professional deal in the summer of 2018 after coming through the ranks of our academy system. Loic then gained some first-team experience with a loan move to Wingate&Finchley during the 2018/19 season.

Hernandez made his senior debut in September 2019, keeping a clean sheet in our 1-0 win over Maidenhead United at The Hive London. He’s since made two further appearances in a Bees shirt and will hope that the 2020/21 campaign can be a breakthrough season.

Speaking after signing his new contract Hernandez said:

“I am pleased, it’s another year to play football and develop, so that is the main focus. I am glad to have it done and now I can focus on playing football, which is the most important thing.

“It was a tough year for me personally last year, but that’s football sometimes. I have got a bit of first-team experience and now it is about kicking on and moving forward.

“I just look to enjoy every day that I am training and apply myself in every session really. I just want to enjoy every single day and playing football again, I’m looking forward to the games getting underway.”

Everyone at Barnet Football Club would like to congratulate Loic on his new deal and we look forward to seeing him develop further in the coming season.

The deal is subject to ratification from the regulatory authorities.
